The 29th annual meeting of the Society for Cross-Cultural Research will be held at the Hampton Inn-Downtown in New Orleans, Louisiana, February 23-27, 2000.
Registration will include a copy of the preliminary program, the final program, a wine & cheese reception, and refreshments between sessions. The banquet will be held on Friday evening, February 25, 2000.

The Hampton Inn-Downtown is located in the heart of New Orlean's central business district (226 Carondelet Street, New Orleans, LA 70130). Located in the city's first "skyscraper", built in 1903 and completely restored in 1994, it is just steps away from the French Quarter and walking distance to the Convention Center, Superdome, Bourbon Street, shopping areas, restaurants, and other area attractions. New Orleans International airport is 21 miles from the downtown area or approximately 20 minutes. A taxi will cost $21 for up to 3 people with $8 for each additional passenger, not to exceed 5. The airport shuttle is $10 each way, arriving and department every 15 minutes.
The Society for Cross-Cultural Research is a multidisciplinary association of behavioral scientists, whose purpose is to support and encourage interdisciplinary, comparative research that has as its objective the establishment of scientifically derived generalizations about human behavior. Its membership encompasses the anthropological, psychological, and social sciences.
The Association for the Study of Play is a multidisciplinary organization, whose purposes are to promote the study of play, to support and cooperate with other organizations having similar purposes, and to organize meetings and publications that facilitate the sharing and dissemination of information related to the study of play. Its broad focus includes anthropology, education, psychology, sociology, history, folklore, ethology, communication, the arts and humanities, playground design, kinesiology, philosophy, and cultural studies.
